Last I shared, we completed the Policemen's Half Marathon and since then I ran the Mother's Day 10K, with a PB of 1:02:02. I was aiming for 1:10, so I was extremely pleased to be so close to the 1 hour mark. Next year's goal is definitely under 1 hour.
The weather has finally improved enough to venture out on the new bike. So far I have managed to un-clip successfully as required. I am waiting for the day I forget and have a humpty-dumpty. I'll be sure to share that. Last night I did 25K in an hour even, which was a very comfortable pace - even with the mother of all hills at the very end of the ride. So I think all the indoor cycling has definitely made a difference (I think it might have something to do with my faster run time, too). Who knows maybe this whole tri training thing is working.
My weight loss has stopped...and in fact I'm putting on a few pounds. Likely due to appetite changes, but mostly it feels like water. I am about 8 pounds away from my "goal weight" and I'm sure I will get there in the next few weeks. I am not nearly as worried about it, as I am quite comfortable where I am at (my clothes are too big and working out is very manageable - so things are good).
We're off to PEI tomorrow...and we've planned an 18K run into town. More like a run to justify lunch at the other end...deep fried clams and chips, and a deep fried mars bar for dessert. My stomach is already gurgling at the thought of it. And we've coordinated the ride home already, so we don't have run back (thank goodness). I think a few morning swims are also planned and those will be in exchange for the lobster, mussels, beer and other local fares. I'll be back on the wagon big time after this holiday.
All for now...
